Learn the culture and traditions of the Waccamaw Siouan Tribe at this annual two-day pow wow on tribal grounds near the town of Bolton. Highlights include Waccamaw Siouan history, traditional foods, an American Indian dance competition, drumming competition and a gospel singing.
The schedule of events is filled with activities and demonstrations, a parade and pageant, and a thrilling Saturday evening closing ceremony. The Waccamaw Tribe settled into southeastern North Carolina from northeastern South Carolina in the late 1700s following a three-decade war with the state of South Carolina.
