Women of the Red Earth (Talking Circle with artists and community)
The exhibition gives a view through the indigenous lens and features the poems of Tonya Holy Elk Locklear who is Lumbee/Oglala Lakota, and the visual art work of Margie Beth Labadie, who is Ashkenazi-Levi. The Native American -non-Native American collaboration crosses cultural boundaries and opens lines of communication for all communities. Everyone is invited to participate in the evening discussion and attend the opening reception to learn more about the poetry and art.
