DESCRIPTION:On Labor Day weekend\, Take the Lake offers everyone the chance to walk\, run\, bike\, paddle and swim in and around picturesque Lake Waccamaw\, the largest of the Carolina Bay Lakes.\n\n \n\nThis unique fitness event is built around four personal endurance challenges: a 5k walk/run\, 6-mile paddle\, 10k bike ride\, and a 4-mile swim. These are not races\, they are fitness events to promote healthy lifestyles. There are also shorter\, family-oriented companion events for each challenge. Volunteers and local residents add to the fun by providing drinks and healthy snacks at hospitality tables along the routes and cheering on participants as they conquer each personal endurance challenge.
