SUMMARY:84th Annual Banquet Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The COVID 19 pandemic has caused so many events and annual traditions to be canceled in Columbus County that the Board of Directors of the Chamber insisted it not ruin the Chamber's largest event of the year. Of course\, 300 business leaders in one room is not an option right now. So\, the Chamber will celebrate its 84th Annual Meeting on Monday\, March 1\, 2021 in a virtual format via the Chamber's Facebook page and YouTube channel. "It'll look different\, but what hasn't this past year?" asks Jennifer Holcomb\, president of the Chamber. "Our businesses have had to pivot how they operate\, and so has the Chamber. While the annual meeting\, usually our largest annual event\, will not be the same as in previous years\, it will still have many components including the recognition of outgoing board members and introductions of our newly elected directors. Chairman of the Chamber\, Dr. Dan Strickland\, will highlight the Chamber's efforts in 2020 before passing the gavel to the incoming Chairman\, Heath Nance. This year's event will be a celebration of our business community and an extending of gratitude to those that made the Chamber's efforts possible. "One silver lining of the pandemic\," Jennifer observes\, "is that the important work of the Chamber\, usually behind the scenes and unobservable\, was on full display." We are very excited to begin 2021 and continue the tradition of supporting\, developing and promoting our county and member businesses."
